Allawi, al-Hashimi – MPs meet to discuss political crisis

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A meeting for al-Iraqiya Bloc’s Leader, Iyad Allawi, Vice-President, Tareq al-Hashimi and the Bloc’s leading members was held in Baghdad on Wednesday to discuss recent developments in the political arena, a Parliament media source reported. “Al-Iraqiya Bloc’s leader, Iyad Allawi, Iraq’s Vice-President, Tareq al-Hashimi and the Bloc’s leading 91 Parliament Members, have met to discuss the recent political developments,” he told IraqiNews.com news agency. The political leaders met at the residence of Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani on July 9, in a step aimed at settling the differences among political blocs, mainly al-Iraqiya Bloc and the State of Law Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, calling on them to negotiate in order to settle the current political crisis.   SKH (TS)/SR 643
