Amnesty Law will not cover crimes against Iraqis

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Chairman of Parliamentary Legal Commission declared that the Amnesty Law will not cover crimes committed against the Iraqi people. MP Khalid Shwani told IraqiNews.com that the law will be presented to the parliament after complete reviewing for voting. “The law shall be a new vent for national reconciliation among the Iraqi people”, he added. Shwani confirmed that the criminals or who wasted public funds will not be covered by the law. This law raised greater controversy among all political blocs, particularly between the State of Law bloc, headed by Premier Nouri al-Maliki and the Sadrist Trend, though it was approved in Arbil meeting and its first draft by the parliament. The differences are over determining which crimes will be covered by this law. RM (TI) Number of Reads:223
