Any role on Syria to be coordinated with Arab League

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Al-Iraqiya’s spokesman confirmed that any role to be played by Iraq on the Syrian question  should be in coordination with the Arab League with special authorization. MP Haidar al-Mulla told IraqiNews.com that Iraqi mediations should be within the legitimacy of the Arab League, otherwise they will fail. “The Syrian regime should stop terrorizing its people and start positive steps to end dictatorship,” he said. Premier Nouri al-Maliki disclosed on Thursday that an Iraqi delegation will leave for Syria to launch an Iraqi initiative to open a dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition to reach acceptable solutions for both sides.
