Aqeeli rules out withdrawing confidence from Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aziz al-Eqeeli, of the Citizen bloc ruled out withdrawing confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, at the current time due to the difficulties of the current situation in Iraq.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Withdrawing confidence from Maliki at the current time is very hard due to the critical situation in Iraq that may lead to the instability.”

He also ruled out “Disuniting the current political blocs and settling the crises even after holding the national meeting.”

Earlier, a meeting was held in Erbil which involved the President, Jalal Talabani, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and the head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, as well as the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, to discuss the political crisis.

The participants in the meeting sent a letter, including nine items, to the Iraqi National Alliance requesting Maliki to implement them within 15 days; otherwise, they will withdraw confidence from him.
