Arab League’s SG in Arbil to meet Kurdistan President Barzani

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Arab League’s Secretary General, Amru Moussa, has arrived in north Iraq Kurdistan Region’s Capital of Arbil and headed to its Salah al-Din, to meet the Region’s President, Massoud Barzani and other Kurdish officials, a Kurdish official said on Monday. Moussa was received in Arbil Airport by a number of leading Iraqi and Kurdish officials, including Iraq‘s Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zibari, Arbil Governor, Nawzad Hadi and the Vice-Chairman of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Nichervan Barzani, the official told IraqiNews.com news agency. Amru Moussa had conferred during his current visit for Iraq that started last Saturday, with Iraq‘s Supreme Religious Authority, Sayid Ali al-Sistani in Najaf early on Monday, following a series of meetings with leading Iraqi officials, including President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, their vice-presidents and deputy-prime ministers, as well as a number of ministers and Parliament Members. His visit aims at getting acquainted with Iraq‘s preparations to host the next Arab Summit, scheduled to convene in Baghdad next March. QM (A) / SKH/SR 54
