Araji denies forming largest bloc by IS, KA, Sadr Trend

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of Ahrar bloc, Baha al-Araji, confirmed “Those who claim that the Sadr Trend allied with the Iraqiya Slate and the Kurdistani Alliance to form the largest bloc to nominate the next PM are mistaken.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The IS and the KA are nut partners but the Iraqi National Alliance is our political space which includes the Iraqi National Coalition and the State of Law Coalition and other sides,” noting that “We could not neglect INA which is formed through the sacrifices of the martyrs.”

“If the political sides managed to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, INA should nominate the candidate who will assume the PM post next,” he added.

“When the President, Jalal Talabani, hands the request to withdraw confidence from Maliki, the parliament will witness a democratic practice according to the constitution,” he concluded.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to IraqiNews.com “We managed to get the required signatures to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” noting that “The MPs’ signatures were collected from all the blocs.”

Earlier, the spokesperson of al-Ahrar bloc, Mushriq Naji, expected “The President, Jalal Talabani, will submit the request to withdraw the confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, to the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi.”
