Araji: Sadr Trend not to split from INA

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of al-Ahrar bloc of the Sadr Trend, Baha al-Araji, announced that “The Sadr Trend does not want to split from the Iraqi National Alliance but it wants to unify and develop it.”

In a press statement, received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday, Araji said “Ahrar bloc was the reason to found the INA and helped to form this alliance.”

Regarding the request to withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, which resulted from Najaf meeting, he said “When we made sure that Qatar and Turkey wish to replace Maliki, we supported him because he is an Iraqi leader and the PM of Iraq, but when he left the reformations and neglected the other parts, we decided to stop him and replace him through the INA because it made him the PM.”

“We hope that things are getting better and some of INA parts try to settle the disputes and make decisions even some sides of the State of Law Coalition, but the next few days will witness new developments,” he added.

“Dialogue is the only way to settle disputes and we have to know that the Kurdistani Alliance and the Iraqiya Slate are partners in the political process which is for all the political blocs,” he concluded.

The head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, has participated in Erbil and Najaf meetings which involved the leaders of the KA and the IS where they gave a time limit of a week to the INA to replace Maliki.
