Asadi to US Ambassador: Anticipating operations of security forces resulted in improving security situation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Adnan al-Asadi, discussed with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Robert Beecroft, the mutual cooperation in the security field between the two countries.

A statement by the MoI received by IraqiNews.com on Monday cited “Asadi received Beecroft at his office in Baghdad where they discussed the mutual cooperation between the two sides in the security field and the means of developing this cooperation.”

“Asadi referred to the development of the security situation in Iraq in spite of the attempts to disturb it by the terrorist groups,” the statement added, noting that “Asadi assured that the adherence to the anticipating operations by the security forces help in improving the security situation in Iraq.”

“For his part, the US Ambassador expressed the readiness of his country to cooperate with Iraq to support the Iraqi Police forces in all aspects,” the statement pointed out.

“The US Ambassador appreciated the democratic experiment in Iraq and the success that it has got in the region,” the statement concluded.
