Askari: Barzani’s statements “Illogical”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Sami al-Askari, of the State of Law Coalition described the statements of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, as “illegal” and “aim to hurdle holding Baghdad Summit.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Wednesday “We are surprised by the statements of Barzani while saying that few persons controlling Iraq and leading it to a distaster,” noting that “These statements are for hurdling Baghdad Summit because only the President, Jalal Talabani, and the Prermier, Nouri al-Maliki, will attend it and he does not have a role in the Summit.”

“While attacking the government, Barzani is trying to escape from the confusion that he has made by not handing over the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, also it is an anticipatory attack before holding the National meeting which will reveal how the Kurds are violating the constitution,” he added

“Barzani stated that the Kurds suffer from discrimination and marginalization, but we see the President and the Foreign Minister are Kurds in addition to the participation of the Kurds in making the political decision,” he pointed out.

Barazani has attacked the central government announcing that “The Kurdish State will be announced soon,” calling the political leader for an urgent meeting.

Recently, the relations between the State of Law Coalition and the Kurdistani Alliance witnessed some tensions as the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, in his speech at the Second National Conference for the Kurdistani Youth held in Erbil on Thursday, said “We will not hand over VP Hashimi because he came to Kurdistan Region to meet with the President Talabani,” calling “to settle his case through the three presidencies.”

For his part, Yasin Majeed, member of the State of Law Coalition criticized Barazani’s statements about not handing over the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi.
