Askari: Iraqi Government determined to form Dijal Operations Command

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Sami al-Askari of the State of Law Coalition confirmed that “The Iraqi Federal Government is determined to form Dijla Operations Command despite the Kurds’ objection over this decision.”

Askari stated to IraqiNews.com “The Government is proceeding towards forming Dijla security forces in Kirkuk province and its neighboring provinces, assuring that “This resolution serves the interests of the country.”

He added that “The formation of this Operations Command is not to bring new security forces but rather it is a formation for an Operation Command that already exists.”

“This decision aims to organize the coordination among the security forces in those regions,” Askari concluded.
