Atroshi: Submitting Talabani’s resignation to Barazani shows unified attitude towards crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Furhad al-Atroshi, of the Kurdistani Alliance assured that “The purpose behind the President, Jalal Talabani’s resignation and submitting it to the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barazani, is to show their unified attitudes towards the political crisis.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The KA will follow all the constitutional procedures to change the government before approving Talabani’s resignation.”

“The KA is waiting for a reply from the Iraqi National Alliance over the massages of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr,” he added, hoping that “The reply of INA would be positive in order to settle the current disputes.”

Earlier, the Kurdish Newspaper, Hawlati, quoted the Prime Minister, of Kurdistan Regional Government, Nijervan Barzani, as saying “Talabani delivered his resignation to Barazani for using it as a card for pressure on Baghdad Government to settle the disputes between Kurdistan Region and the Central Government.”

The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not implementing Erbil agreement and the council of the Strategic Policies.

The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the time limit set to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
