Barzani, Allawi, Chalabi discuss political updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, discussed the political updates and the current political crisis with the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, and the head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed al-Chalabi, separately on Tuesday.

A statement by the Presidency of Kurdistan Region received by IraqiNews.com cited “Barzani and Allawi discussed the means of the settling the political crisis depending on several options including Erbil Agreement.”

“Both sides stressed the necessity for intensifying the efforts to unify the views and the stances over the current and future situation in the country in coordination with the other sides,” the statement added.

“Barzani received Chalabi and they discussed the current situation in Iraq and the political crisis,” the statement continued.

“Both sides emphasized the importance of resorting to the constitution and the former agreements to solve the crisis assuring that consolidating democracy and real partnership is the basic solution for the disputes,” the statement concluded.
