Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani, on last Wednesday, met with Kurdish political parties.
A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK cited “During the meeting they discussed three main issues the first was the results of the recent visit of President Barzani to Germany and his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos and his official visit to Northern Ireland.”
“The second was the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, and demonstrations in the provinces of Nineveh, Kirkuk, Anbar, Salah-il-Din, Diyala and other areas of Iraq,” the statement assured.
“The third was the latest developments in the region in general and Syria in particular. The Kurdistan Parties commended the unity of the people of Kurdistan in protecting Kurdistan Region and their constitutional rights and the democratic process in Iraq,” the statement added.
“They stressed the need to address all the problems in Iraq by peaceful means, and welcomed any initiative that will contribute in calming the situation and start serious dialogue among Iraqi parties in order to reach a comprehensive agreement to end the tensions in the country,” the statement concluded.
