Barzani, Mehdi discuss Iraqi crisis in Arbil

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Kurdistan President Masoud Barzani discussed with Higher Islamic Council leading member Adel Abdul Mehdi ways to deal with the present crisis in the country and the necessity to all parties’ agreement on a national projects and the implementation of previous agreements. Barzani, in a statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, stressed the importance of abiding by the real partnership. The statement added that both sides stressed that all political parties should agree on a national project, implement previous agreements and solve the present crisis to create a state of stability in the country. A political observer described Kurdistan meetings as “an attempt to re-draw the balances in decision making among different parties”. Mehdi in Erbil to discuss the matters with Barzani, while Iraqiya leader Iyad Alawi is present in Sulaimaniya to have talks with President Jalal Talabani. Kurdistan region is witnessing hectic meetings among Iraqi politician to contain the present crisis between Iraqiya and the State of Law blocs, following accusing vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with “terrorism”, and the decision of Premier Nouri al-Maliki decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in Iraqiya bloc.
