Barzani to attend parliament session to show respect for Iraqis, says Khalil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahma Khalil, of the Kurdistani Alliance pointed out “The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, will attend the parliament session to respond to those who have concerns over appearing in front of the Council.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Despite the fact that the calls of some political blocs to host Barzani in the parliament violates the constitution, he will attend the parliament session to show respect for the Iraqis and due to his faith in democracy.”

“Barzani is among the pioneers of the change process and one of the crucial figures in the political process as well as the patron of Erbil Agreement according to which the government was formed,” he added.

“He can reveal the secret agreements and what happened behind the closed doors,” he stressed.

“Some of the State of Law Coalition members withdrew from their call to host Barzani,” he mentioned.

Earlier, Barzani expressed his readiness to attend the parliament session to clarify the reasons for disputes between the Central Government and Kurdistan Regional Government.
