Basra has no plans to activate federalism, cut oil exports – official

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Local authorities in Basra have no plans to activate federalism or cut oil exports in response to allowing Baathists to rejoin the Iraqi political arena, head of the Basra Provincial Council said on Monday. “We have absolutely no such plans,” Jabbar Ameen al-Lateef told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said statements made in this regard by any of the council’s members are personal, and do not represent the approach of Basra‘s local authorities.
