Bateikh: Blocs’ representatives to visit Kurdistan Region to discuss political crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Secretary of the White Bloc Jamal Al-Bateikh assured that “The meeting of leaders of political blocs, which was held yesterday at the residence of the leader of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, proposed the formation of a delegation of leaders of the blocs to visit Kurdistan Region.

A statement by Bateikh to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) stated that “The meeting discussed the implications of the Syrian situation and its impact on Iraq, and the movement of the Federal troops on the Iraqi – Syrian borders.”

He added that “The atmosphere of the meeting was positive, and the attendees stressed on the need to contain the problems occurring between Kurdistan Region and the Center in accordance with the Constitution and the Iraqis’ interest.”

The leaders of political blocs, who attended an Iftar banquet hosted by the head of the Iraqi National Alliance on Tuesday evening, moved later to the residence of the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, where they held a meeting to discuss developments in the political process.
