Call to recognize Kurdish language in neighboring countries – conference

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Kurdish language conference ended today demanding a special law and recognition of neighboring countries in this language.   Preparatory Committee member Professor Yousi Shareef told IraqiNews.com that the conference, among other matters, suggested issuing a Kurdish-Kurdish dictionary in Arabic and Latin letters, and unifying touristic placards in Arabic and Latin languages.   He called Turkey, Syria and Iran to recognize the Kurdish language in their constitutions, similar to that in the Iraqi constitution, as well completing higher studies in Kurdish language.   The conference was held in Arbil on 19-22 September 2011,  under the slogan ( Language is the national identity)   RM (TS)/SR 310
