Calls to dismiss Allawi part of media campaign against IS, says Alwani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ahmed al-Alwani of the Iraqiya Slate (IS) considered the demands of some deputies to dismiss the IS leader Ayad Allawi from the Parliament due to his continuous absences from meetings of the Parliament as “a part of a media campaign against the Slate.”

He said in a statement to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) that “The calls to dismiss the IS’ leader Ayad Allawi are cheap talks and we will not respond to them.”

Earlier, MP Mohammed al-Sayhoud of the State of Law Coalition called last Sunday in a statement to (IraqiNews.com) to question the IS leader Ayad Allawi, noting “He is a member of the former and current Iraqi parliaments but he did not attend but one meeting of parliament sessions in which he defended the spoilers in the Electoral Commission.”
