Chalabi meets Egyptian ambassador, discuses new government

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A leading figure of the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) Ahmed al-Chalabi received the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq Shareef Shaheen. “Iraq needs a strong, active, and qualified government,” Chalabi said during the meeting according to a release on Monday issued by his office and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. He noted that the coming Iraqi government will be a cabinet of national partnership that allows all Iraqi components to seriously contribute to decision-making and running the state. “Iraq is part of its Arab and Muslim environment and is looking forward to having relations with all,” al-Chalabi stressed. Earlier, Hayder al-Mulla – the official spokesperson of Al-Iraqiya Alliance – said that Al-Iraqiya Alliance will not give away its constitutional right to form the new government. Al-Mulla pointed out that Al-Iraqiya List’s nominee for the position of Iraq’s Prime Minister is Ayad Allawi. MH (P)/SR 2
