Citizen bloc collects 100 votes to ratify Rehabilitating Maysan proposal

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Citizen bloc announced collecting (100) signatures of MPs to support endorsing the initiative of the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, related to rehabilitating Maysan province.

The head of the PCB, Baqir Jaber al-Zubaydi, assured in a press conference attended by IraqiNews.com correspondent on Thursday “We collected more than (100) votes from MPs for endorsing the project of rehabilitating Maysan province which was subject to oppression during the Iraqi-Iranian war in the 1980s.”

He clarified that “This project calls to wipe out the unexploded mines spread in Maysan territories and other provinces to start a rehabilitation campaign.”

Concerning the General Amnesty law, Zubaydi stated “We are against ratifying this law in its current draft and we will not accept to pardon any terrorist involved in killing innocent people.”
