Confiscating Kirkuk’s identity to threaten national unity, says Jobouri

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Omar al-Jobouri, of Kirkuk province pointed out that “Confiscating the identity of Kirkuk province will threaten the national unity.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “All Iraqis are responsible for defending this province which has been called a mini-Iraq since a ling time.”

“Kirkuk province will reject any attempt to impose a specific communal identity on it because it involves three major communities,” he added.

He called “The sides that attempt to impose a communal identity on the province to be like Arabs who do not impose the Arabic identity on the province.”

Kirkuk is considered as among the provinces of Kurdistan Region according to the Kurdish politicians while this idea is rejected by the rest of the communities inside and outside the province.

The identity of Kirkuk province is among the prominent pending issues among the political blocs.
