Dahlaki describes General Amnesty Law as \"Backbone of reforms\"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Raad Al-Dahlaki of the Iraqiya Slate (IS) said that “The General Amnesty law is the backbone of the political reforms.”

He told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) that “The general amnesty law reached the final stage of completion and was sent to the Presidency of Parliament to be presented for a vote.”

Dahlaki criticized some MPs from the State of Law Coalition for declaring that “in the case the general amnesty law was passed in the parliament, it would not be implemented,” stressing that “This puts a question mark on the independence of the judiciary in this aspect.”

He explained that “The legislative authority in Iraq is higher than the executive authority, so when the law is endorsed in the parliament it should be implemented by the judiciary.”
