Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Shakir al-Daraji, of the State of Law Coalition pointed out that “The calls for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, aim at hurdling government and keeping the Iraqis busy with the disputes.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “These calls are launched to hinder the performance of the government which accomplished the successes on local and regional levels,” noting that “Some sides wish to have weak government in Iraq.”

“The successes achieved by the government will consolidate its position in the upcoming elections and this is what these sides, that are supported by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, want to eliminate,” he concluded.

The political scene witnesses escalated disputes among the political blocs which led some of the political sides to call for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki after several meetings in Erbil and Najaf provinces.

A political meeting has been held in Nineveh on Saturday.

The meeting was headed by the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, to discuss the political crisis.
