Dawlat al-Qanoon leading in Muthanna, Baghdad, Basra

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News The initial results of the parliamentary elections in Muthanna, Baghdad and Basra show the advancement of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon, according to al-Iraqia satellite channel. “Initial results in Muthanna show that Dawlat al-Qanoon received the first place with 66546 votes, while the Iraqi National Alliance came in the second place with 50863, and the al-Iraqiya List in the third place with 12412 votes,” the channel said. “In Baghdad, counting 60% of the votes showed that the Dalwat al-Qanoon came in the lead with more than 65,000 votes from the al-Iraqiya List,” the channel added. “Dawlat al-Qanoon received more than 518,000 votes, while al-Iraqiya got 453,000 and the Iraqi National Alliance came in the third place with 324,000.” “After counting 84% of the votes in Basra, al-Maliki’s bloc received 341667 votes in the first place before the Iraqi National Alliance which got 188435,” al-Iraqia television reported.
