Deputy PM discusses bilateral relations with UK Ambassador

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister, Roz Nouri Shawes, has conferred with the U.K. Ambassador to Baghdad on Sunday bilateral relations between both countries and the current efforts to implement the Arbil Agreement, in order to safeguard the government of national-partnership in the country.   “Deputy Prime Minister, Roz Nouri Shawes, has received at his Baghdad office on Sunday the UK Ambassador to Baghdad Michael Aron on Sunday, and both men discussed the Iraqi-British relations and means to develop them, in the interest of both parties,” according to a statement by the Deputy PM’s office.   “Both sides have discussed the results of the Special Minerals Investment Conference, held in London earlier this month, with the attendance of a high-level Iraqi delegation, led by Dr. Shawes,” it said.  “Both sides had hailed the results of the conference as opening good investment horizons, along with facilitating the entrance of British companies and investors into Iraq.”   The British Ambassador said that the UK government “would exert every possible effort for investment and reconstruction works in Iraq,” expressing readiness to present all facilities for Iraqi businessmen, in order to strengthen the economic and trade cooperation between both countries.   SKH (TI)/SR 211
