Disputes over support councils do not affect cabinet – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Senior member of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC), Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, on Thursday said that disputes between the federal and Kurdistan’s cabinets regarding support councils would not affect the governmental alliance. “Those disputes are present, but the federal government is functioning,” Lawmaker Hamoudi of the Unified Iraqi Alliance (UIA) Shiite parliamentary bloc told IraqiNews.com. “This issue is normal, considering that the state is still within the construction stage,” he said. The UIA is the biggest parliamentary bloc, as it occupies 83 out of 275 of Iraq’s council of representatives. MH (P)/SR 1
