Disputes threaten democratic process in Iraq, says Jaf

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ashwaq al-Jaf, of the Kurdistani Alliance confirmed that “The disputes will not be settled unless the key political leaders met for dialogue to solve the deep political problems.”

She stated to IraqiNews.com “The presence of the key figures is important to discuss the views during the national meeting which is expected to be held soon,” noting that “The political disputes are not simple as they threaten the democratic process that started in 2003.”

“The presence of the prominent political figures for the national meeting including the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, and the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, as well as the head of the Iraqi Islamic Party, Ayad al-Samarayi, is very crucial to sustain the democracy in Iraq,” she concluded.
