Douri: Targeting security officers proves poor intelligence performance

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate’s MP Etab al-Douri pointed out that “Targeting the officers of the security forces by the terrorist groups aims to empty the security system from qualified and professional elements to be replaced by corrupted and weak elements to cause further security deterioration.”

In a statement received by IraqiNews.com, MP Douri said Saturday “Terrorism attempts to send a message for the people proving the poor intelligence performance to create a sense of lack of security for the citizens by targeting the guards of the citizens.”

She called the government to treat this problem through providing all financial and spiritual support for security departments in addition to equipping them by modern and efficient weapons and devices, especially the explosive detectors or sonar devices.

She also stressed necessity of enhancing the cooperation between the Defense Ministry and Interior Ministry to face all challenges on the security level.

MP Douri also called the local governments, heads of tribes and dignitaries to adopt a united orientation over supporting the security departments to foil the schemes of the terrorist groups which attempt to eliminate the best security officers.

The IS’ MP warned from the “Sequences of this case which might cause the collapse of the security system in Iraq due to the riots and violence taking place in neighboring countries, especially Syria.”

The last few days witnessed an organized campaign to target the police and security officers through attacking security patrols and check points in addition conducting assassination attempts with silenced weapons.
