Early elections require 180 days preparations – Haidari

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The organization of an early election will require 6-months time, in addition to issuing a special law and budget and determining its date, the head of the Higher Independent Election Authority announced today. Faraj al-Haidari told IraqiNews.com that “the preparations for the early elections require special prerequisites, but the main question is whether the elections shall be open or closed lists.” Commenting on the investigations into the Election Authority, Haidari stated “we expect such questioning, because we were questioned following each election. The main thing is our integrity.” He added that millions of dollars were spent by the government, United Nations, and other organization in training and rehabilitating appropriate cadres.
