Economic growth, respect for human rights to determine Iraq’s strength, says Tayib

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Spokesman of the Kurdistani Alliance, Muayad al-Tayib, confirmed that “The strength of Iraq is to be gained through its respect for the human rights and its economic growth rather than its strong army.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Iraq is to be strong through its economy, openness towards the international community, respect for the human rights and through the services presented to its people.”

“The new Iraq must solve its problems with all the neighboring countries through the diplomatic means as confirmed by the constitution,” he added.

“There are many experiments for countries concentrated on the military power and then reached its end like the Soviet Union,” he assured.

Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced that his visit to Russia comes to hold deals for buying weapons for the Iraqi Army and to consolidate the military cooperation between the two countries.
