Fatlawi: Barzani raises Talabani’s resignation due to latter’s national stances

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hanan al-Fatlawi, of the State of Law Coalition assured “The President of Kurdistan Region, raised the issue of the resignation of the President, Jalal Talabani, due to the latter’s national stances.”

She stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “This issue of Talabani’s resignation was put forth by Barzani because Talabani had many national stances which were concluded by his support for the necessity of limiting the issue of exporting the oil to the Central Government.”

“Despite the fact that the candidate for the President’s post is determined by the Kurds but we will reject Talabani’s resignation if submitted to the parliament,” she concluded.

Earlier, the Kurdish Newspaper, Hawlati, quoted the Prime Minister, of Kurdistan Regional Government, Nijirvan Barzani, as saying “Talabani delivered his resignation to Barzani for using it as a card for pressure on Baghdad Government to settle the disputes between Kurdistan Region and the Central Government.”

The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not implementing Erbil agreement and the council of the Strategic Policies.

The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the time limit set to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
