Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The State of Law Coalition’s MP Ali al-Fayadh denied the reports which talked about confessions of Nineveh Governor Atheel al-Nijaifi for him about concluding oil contracts with Kurdistan Regional Government at the disputed areas in the province.

Fayadh, the deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, stated to Iraqi News “The reports circulated by media outlets over confessions of Nineveh Governor to me at a certain meeting about his step of concluding oil contracts with the Kurdistan RegionG at the disputed areas between the province and the Region, are groundless.”

Nineveh Governor is still adherent to the constitution and rules about oil contracts as well as authorities granted to local governments, he added, calling media outlets to show more commitments towards seeking accuracy and accountability of news reports.”

Some media outlets have reported that “Nineveh Governor, Atheel al-Nijaifi, brother of Iraqi Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi, has confessed in front of MP Ali al-Fayadh of the State of Law Coalition, headed by Premier Nouri al-Maliki, about concluding oil contracts with the Kurdistan RegionG on the disputed areas with the Region.”
