FM denies involvement of UNAMI in investigation of CBI’s issue

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Ministry denied the involvement of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in the investigation of the issue of the Central Bank of Iraq.

A statement by the FM received by IraqiNews.com cited “Some media outlet stated that UNAMI is participating in the investigation of the issue of the CBI where the FM assures, after contacting UNAMI, that these reports are groundless.”

Earlier, the parliament formed an investigation committee headed by the first Deputy Speaker, Qusay al-Sihail, to investigate smuggling the currency in the CBI.
