Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An official statement by the Foreign Ministry cited that “Iraq expresed reservation on a decision by the Arab League to adhere to the Seventh Chapter of the United Nation’s Charter to settle the crisis in Syria.”

The statement cited “Iraq and Algeria have reserved on this decision and Lebanon rejected the whole decision.”

“The Iraqi delegation, headed by the undersecretary of the FM, Lubaid Abawi, has participated in the meetings of the Arab Peace Committee and the Arab Ministerial Committee to settle the crisis in Syria,” the statement added.

“The meeting hosted the international envoy Kufi Anan where he presented explanation over his last visit to Syria and the negotiations with the sides there which resulted in presenting a decision to the Ministerial Committee,” the statement concluded.
