German consul discusses investment in Kurdistan

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The President of Northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani, has discussed with the new German Consul-General in Iraq, encouraging leading German companies to invest in Kurdistan, according to a statement by the Kurdish Presidency on Tuesday.   “The President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barznai, has conferred in north Arbil’s Salahaddin Resort on Tuesday, with the new Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Rolf Ulrich,  on the occasion of receiving his duties,” the statement stressed, adding that “Barzani had expressed readiness of Kurdistan Region to strengthen and boost relations with Federal Germany.”   The German Consul-General, on his part, has said that “he would exert intensive efforts to encourage the large investment companies in Germany to head for Kurdistan, in order to share in the process of building and reconstruction and to strengthen relations between both sides.”   SKH (TI)/SR 281
