German parliamentary delegation reviews HR issues with Kurdistan RegionG

Arbil-Germany ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Head of the human rights committee of the German parliament, who are currently visiting Iraq leading a delegation of German lawmakers, said on Monday that they discussed with an official from the Kurdistan Regional Government a number of issues related to human rights, woman and freedoms. “We discussed with Kurdish lawmakers the forced marriage of little girls and circumcision, as well as violence against women,” she said at a press conference held at the German consulate in Arbil. The MP pointed out that she met with the speaker of Kurdistan’s parliament, Adnan al-Mufti, the representative of the Red Cross and a number of journalists to discuss human rights condition in the northern region.
