Government calls Turkey to stop exporting illegal oil through its territories

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi government called the Turkish government to stop exporting the Iraqi illegal oil through its territories.

The spokesperson of the government, Ali al-Dabbagh, mentioned in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday “Exporting the oil from Kurdistan Region to Turkey is illegal because the oil belongs to the Iraqi people and can be exported only by the central government that resembles them.”

“Turkey cooperates in this issue and became involved in a situation that we do not hope it becuase the Iraqi -Turkish mutual relations will be affected,” he added, noting that “We have tensions with Kurdistan Region where Turkey must not interfere in it because it is an Iraqi issue.”

“The Turkish officials decided to deal with another part that is not the official one rather than the central government and this is a big mistake where we hope them to change their stance over this issue,” he concluded.
