Government warns Turkey from violating Iraqi airspace

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Government warned Turkey from violating the airspace and the territories of Iraq.”

The spokesman of the government, Ali al-Dabbagh, stated to IraqiNews.com “The Council of Ministers discussed, during its Tuesday session, the issue of the repeated violations of the Turkish warplanes for the Iraqi airspace and threatening the security of its citizens.”

“The Council instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protest these violations to the UN Security Council to record these violations,” he mentioned.

“Iraq will keep its right to take the required procedures to prevent these violations for its sovereignty,” he added.

The diplomatic relations witness tensions between the two countries due to the Syrian crisis and for receiving the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, by Turkey.

The Turkish warplanes attack some areas in Kurdistan Region frequently under the claim of fighting the PKK elements who opposes the Turkish Regime.
