Government will fail 100-day Achievements -MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi government backed itself into a corner when it announced the 100-days as a date for evaluating the work of the ministries, Kurdish Change Movement MP Lateef Sheikh Mustafa said today.  He did not expect tangible results during this period.  “The government was wrong from the beginning when committed itself to the 100-day timetable. Everyone knew that it would be unable to do anything during this period, or even a longer period, due to the many problems that Iraqi citizens are suffering from,” Mustafa added.  He referred to the continued cuts in electricity as an example.  Mustafa warned that the people might resort to demonstrations, if the justifications are not enough, which may lead to worse results for the government.  He did not expect that a parliamentary session would be convened during the summer holiday however. He pointed to more urgent matters that need to be attended to, such as the withdrawal of U.S. forces.  RM (TS)/SR 530
