Hakim denounces Western silence towards defaming Prophet Mohammed’s personality

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, denounced targeting the personality of the Prophet Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him and criticized the silence of the western officials towards this clear violation under pretext of freedom of expressing opinion.

A statement by the SIIC mentioned Friday “Hakim reiterated, during his meeting on Friday with a huge number of heads of Iraqi Tribes in his office in Baghdad, the huge responsibility put on Muslims to defend Islam and their believes through reflecting the real peaceful and disciplined rejection for violations.”

“The Western officials show their anger when someone suspects the holocaust, but they remain silent towards the violations committed against the Islam and Islamic figures,” the statement added.

Hakim also appreciated the major role of the Heads of Tribes in Iraq who represent the main backup for the political process and the unity of Iraqis, stressing the importance of “drafting a law to legitimize forming an independent Tribal Establishment supported by the State and kept away from political pressures.”

Hakim expressed readiness of the Citizen Bloc to adopt this draft law and take into the Parliament to endorse it, calling to form a security system to provide security for chieftains who represent a national wealth.

He highlighted the historic relations between the family of the religious authority al-Hakim and the heads of the Iraqi Tribes, assuring that these good relations will continue.”
