Hakim, Iranian Ambassador discuss political developments

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed “The necessity of establishing positive relations between Iraq and the neighboring countries.”

A statement by Hakim’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Hakim received the Iranian Ambassador, Hasan Danayi, in Baghdad on Thursday as they discussed the international and regional political developments.”

“Danayi, who expressed his gratitude for hosting the 5+1 meeting, informed Hakim about the results of the 5+1 meeting which was held in Baghdad,” the statement added.

“Hakim condoles the Iranian people for the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s death,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, Baghdad hosted the 5+1 meeting over the Iranian nuclear program.
