Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, and the head of the political bureau of the Sadr Trend, Karar al-Khafaji, met in Baghdad on Friday.
A statement by the political bureau of the Sadr Trend cited “Khafaji received Hakim and the accompanying delegation at the office of the bureau in Baghdad as they discussed the political updates and the means of eliminating the disputes by exploiting the blessing month, Ramadan.”
“Both sides stressed unifying the stances of the political blocs so as to present the best services to the citizens,” the statement added.
The statement mentioned “They also reviewed the internal and the external challenges that Iraq faces in addition to the consequences of the Syrian crisis on the situation in Iraq.”
“The meeting was attended by the first Deputy Speaker, Qusay al-Sihail, and the head of Ahrar parliamentary bloc, Baha al-Araji, in addition to the Minister of Reconstruction and Housing, Mohamed al-Daraji, as well as MP, Ameer al-Kinani, and the former Minister, Abdul Mahdi al-Mutairi,” the statement concluded.
