Hakim: SIIC to continue supporting national unity

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, pointed out that “The SIIC is going on in its policy of consolidating the national unity among the political sides to serve the political process.

A statement by the SIIC received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Hakim, during his visit to Erbil province on Sunday morning, met the head of the Kurdistani Islamic Union, Salah il-Din Baha il-Din.”

“Hakim expressed his appreciation for the struggle of the Iraqis against tyranny to achieve freedom and dignity,” the statement added.

    For his part, Baha il-Din expressed his gratitude for Hakim’s role in bringing the various views closer in addition to his moderate political performance,” the statement concluded.

The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, heading by a high-level delegation arrived in Sulaimaniya province on Thursday to participate in the annual commemoration of Halabcha crime committed by the former regime against Halabcha city.
