Hakim: Unity among Iraqis results in defeating ISIL terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council ( SNSC) on Sunday called for making documentary about formation of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant terrorist group, its supporters and effective methods to confront terrorism are important issues to remain in history.

Ali Shamkhani made the remarks in a meeting with head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim.

He felicitated recent victory of Iraqi military and popular forces in fight against terrorism and liberation of occupied territories and called unity and solidarity of Shia and Sunni Muslims as a big achievement in direction of bolstering national power of Iraq.

He called unity and solidarity in Iraq as the most effective principle for success against Takfiri terrorists and their supporters trying to create disunity and proposing deviated issues to harm the Muslim World capacities in confrontation with the world arrogance.

Secretary of SNSC underlined Iran’s firm determination to continue all-out support for Iraqi government to uproot terrorism.

Al-Hakim, for his part, presented a report on latest developments in Iraq in the fields of politics, economy and security and underlined that policy of spreading disputes and disunity among different Iraqi groups which was founded during presence foreign forces in Iraq, had consequences like emergence of ISIL.

He underlined that the unity among Iraqis results in defeating ISIL terrorism as he called to more attention to rebuild damaged areas and said it is necessary to enhance level of economic cooperation between the two countries. /End/
