Hakim, US charge d’affaires discuss regional, Iraqi updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, and the US charge d’affaires discussed the regional and Iraqi updates.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hakim, during his meeting with the US charge d’affaires in Baghdad, stressed the importance of conducting dialogue among all political sides to discuss the disputes and to achieve the reforms and to enhance the national accord.”

“Both sides reviewed the regional developments,” the statement concluded.

Iraq witnesses political crisis lasted for several months due to the disputes among the political sides related to the partnership and other issues which led some blocs to call for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, after holding meetings in Najaf and Erbil provinces.
