Hakim warns from consequences of regional situation, its affects on Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, warned from the consequences of the regional situation and its affects on the internal affairs of Iraq.

In a public mass meeting for the organizations of the Trend of Shaheed al-Mihrab in Maysan province, Hakim said “The Arabic Spring that some countries are witnessing has changed into a hot summer that its fire might reach Iraq,” noting that “We do assure on the freedom of the people to get their rights, but we will face all the regional projects that are against the people’s rights.”

“Our speech over the danger does not mean our acceptance of defeat where we need to be ready to face all the challenges by conducting the procedures that make the danger away from us by not taking any not well planned actions that may result in negative results,” he added.

“We did no adhere to the project of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, because we are adherent to the unity of the national project and we did not want to practice un expected adventures because the government is elected by the people and we must respect their choice, but we have to provide services that must be provided by the government,” he concluded.
