Hashimi’s investigation procedures are “right” – Higher Judicial Council

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com:  Iraqi Higher Judicial Council confirmed that the procedures taken on vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi’s case were “right”, confirming that the 9-gudge committee will start deliberations. The council, in a press statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, called the Iraqi people to file their suits against any official, whatever his post is, for terrorist or corruption acts. Spokesman Abdul Sattar Beiraqdar added that the judges recommended the Cabinet to send whatever information it has on terrorist charges or corruption cases committed by present or ex-governmental officials, which were not opened for political reasons. Iraqiya bloc submitted a request to the Council on the authenticity of the investigation procedures of Hashimi’s case and a number of his bodyguards. Iraq is moving into a severe political crisis after accusing vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with terrorism and issuing an arrest warrant against him, in addition to Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in the Iraqiya bloc. The country is waging a terrorist campaing in continuing terrorist actions against the pilgrims heading toe Kerbela province to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Added to all that previous differences on security posts, internal differences between Iraqiya and State of Law blocs for Erbil agreements.
