Hindawi calls to protect sacred shrines in Syria

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Parliamentary Political Prisoners Committee, Mohamed al-Hindawi, called “The government and the parliament to send a delegation to Turkey, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ask them to protect the holy shrines in Syria.”

He stated in a press conference at the parliament “We warned previously from the attempts to target the religious holy shrines in Syria by the extremists of the Qaeda Organization.”

He called “To send the delegation to these countries that support the Syrian Free Army to pressurize them to protect these shrines from the terrorist groups.”

Earlier, reports mentioned that a number of holy shrines belong to the Shiite sect were targeted in Syria.
