IHEC: Results of Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections to be announced soon

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission announced that the results of the parliamentary elections of Kurdistan Region will be declared soon.

A statement by the IHEC received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday quoted the head of the Electoral Department within the IHEC, Muqdad al-Shirifi, as saying “The IHEC will announce the results of Kurdistan Region elections soon and it is responding to the complaints submitted to it.”

“All the mechanisms of the performance of the IHEC are flexible and the national office of the data input is receiving the polling cards that are being sent from the electoral centers in Kurdistan Region,” he added.

The spokesperson of the IHEC, Safaa al-Mousawi, stated “The elections were successfully held,” noting that “The UN team and the international observers praised the procedures of the IHEC and the accuracy in dealing with the elections.”
